White House Praises MSNBC's Olbermann & Maddow: 'Invaluable'

Yes, they're great. Sad thing is the majority of cable news viewers still prefer Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. Even their late-evening repeats get more views their competitors' first airings. This is something the competing networks, namely MSNBC and CNN need to figure out. Why is Fox so appealing? I tried watching Fox for a little while and I thought most of the shows are a mess; the hosts are either yelling about things that make no sense or talking quietly and make no sense.

When I tune in to watch Rachel Maddow, I know that I will be getting a certain political opinion from a very well-educated host. And even though she might not cover as many stories as the others, she provides a more in-depth analysis on the ones she does talk about.

That said, I don't know if it's exactly appropriate for the White House Deputy Press Secretary to go out of his way to praise Keith and Rachel, because the guys at Fox will almost certainly take great offense.
